2 slices organic uncured bacon
Black pepper to taste
1 cup organic broccoli florets
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon bacon grease
1 Tablespoon organic pasture butter OR 2 Tablespoons shredded organic raw Cheddar cheese
Fry bacon (sprinkled with black pepper) in cast iron skillet. Cut into 1-inch slices. Remove to bowl.
In small saucepan or skillet, add bacon grease, broccoli and just enough water to cover broccoli. Simmer covered until broccoli is tender. Add broccoli to bowl. Sprinkle with pepper flakes and mix in butter (or cheese) until melted.
