Chicken Jerky for dogs Warning - Unspecified illnesses

Not sure about this one since it isn't an outright recall, since they didn't really specify a company or an illness (just the symptoms ...) But, it's a good reason to learn to make your own treats for your pets!

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is again cautioning consumers that chicken jerky products for dogs (also sold as chicken tenders, strips or treats) may be associated with illness in dogs.

Root Vegetables article

"Cheap, Filling and Nutritious: Root Veggies Root vegetables (with the exception of potatoes and carrots) are some of the most overlooked and underappreciated foodstuffs around. But these nutritional storehouses are hidden treasures worthy of your notice. Not only are they available in winter when other vegetables are hard to find, but they are also very inexpensive."

Sprouts!

I am finally making sprouts! Alfalfa sprouts to be exact. I bought these sprouting trays a month or so ago & thought I better start using them! This is about 48 hours in.
I won't be using such small seeds in these trays in the future, but the alfalfa seeds came with it. They are hard to rinse as they flow out the sides, then I have to pick them out of the sink! Kind of annoying. So, I'll stick to jars for the little seeds. But, bigger seeds and nuts will work great in it.

My mom made a really good dinner. Whole turkey breast seasoned with Cajun seasoning and chives. Organic spring mix salad with organic heirloom tomato & natural olives. With Bragg's organic ginger & sesame dressing. And, organic grapes.
The turkey breast was huge. I was only able to eat half. Saving the rest for lunch tomorrow.
