OK, it's not really a recipe since there is only one ingredient! Sorry, I didn't take pictures of the first part of the recipe!
1 lb. Serrano Peppers
Wash peppers. Slice down the middle, lengthwise. Place in dehydrator trays. Set temperature dial at 135F. Dehydrate for 8-12 hours or overnight until thoroughly dry (hard, but brittle.)
Place dried peppers in small food processor in batches. Pulse continually until ground, adding more peppers until all are done.
Some of the seeds may not be completely ground.
Using a small funnel, pour ground pepper into jar or other small container.
1 lb. of Serrano peppers made about 1/3 cup of ground pepper. Use sparingly in soups, sauces, etc. It is very spicy! The aroma as you are grinding can be overwhelming, so take breaks.

Canning!!!
I bought a Ball 1884-style water bath canning set today. It was on clearance at Tractor Supply Company. $20.00 off! I've been wanting to learn how to do this for a while and when I saw this the other day, I knew I wanted it! Comes with everything I need, other than the jars which I already have! Now to decide what I want to can first! And, I'm so glad it is blue spackle enamelware. I love that old style! Almost as much as I love cast-iron cookware! Though I wish that half the utensils weren't plastic. Want to find metal or glass replacements eventually.

Nutty Cereal Recipe
Having gone totally wheat-free and gluten-free, my mom was still craving 'cereal', so I found a way to satisfy her.
1 cup roughly chopped raw walnuts
1/2 cup finely chopped raw almonds
1/2 cup finely chopped raw macadamias
1/2 cup finely ground raw pecans
1/2 cup finely ground raw cashews
1/4 cup chopped raw pine nuts
1-1/2 Tablespoons raw cacao nibs
2 Tablespoons dried cherries
2 Tablespoons dried blueberries
2 Tablespoons raisins
2 Tablespoons raw sunflower seeds
1/2 teaspoon raw maca powder
2 Tablespoons raw shredded coconut
Serve 1/2 cup of nutty cereal with raw milk.

I'm starting to experiment more with avocados.
8 oz. fresh blackberries
1 frozen banana
1/2 Hass avocado
1/4 teaspoon maca powder
1 teaspoon cacao nibs
1/2 cup raw cream
1/2 cup raw milk
Blend until smoothie consistency. Depending on your preferred smoothie thickness, use more or less cream or milk. I normally use 1 cup cream, but I ran out. So, I did half and half.
You can also add a tablespoon of raw pecan butter for a really nice extra bit of flavor.

Chocolate-dipped Kiwi Popsicle Recipe
I originally found this recipe here: Chocolate Kiwi Popsicles. I modified it slightly.
2 kiwifruits, peeled and sliced
1 cup baker's chocolate or other high-cacao content unsweetened chocolate bar, broken in pieces
1/2 cup coconut oil
popsicle sticks or popsicle mold handles
In an oven-safe glass bowl, melt chocolate with coconut oil in a 350F oven or toaster oven for about 10 minutes. Stir until completely mixed. Cool to room temperature.
Stick each slice of kiwifruit on popsicle stick.
Dip into cooled chocolate. Place on a wax-paper lined tray. Freeze for 1-2 hours.
This can also be done with large strawberries, chunks of banana or other fruits!

1 butternut squash, peeled and cut into large chunks
2 cups carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks (or use baby carrots)
1½ tablespoons coconut oil, melted
1/2 pound raw bacon or bacon ends, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 small apple, chopped
2 cups homemade bone broth
1 cup raw milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg
Toss squash and carrots with coconut oil.
Arrange in a large glass baking dish and roast, uncovered, for 35 minutes or until tender.
In a cast iron dutch oven over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp.
Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Add the onion and apple to the dutch oven and sauté in bacon fat over medium heat until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add the roasted butternut squash, carrots, stock, milk and spices to dutch oven and bring to a boil, stirring often.
Remove from heat.
Working in several small batches, blend soup in food processor until smooth.
Return to dutch oven, bring to a simmer until warmed through.
Serve soup in large bowls, mixing in bacon. You can freeze up to 2 months.

Gluten-Free Pumpkin Cake Recipe
4 cups almond flour
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 pastured eggs
3/4 cup raw milk
1-15 oz. can organic pureed pumpkin
1 cup pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
coconut oil, butter or lard
pecan halves, optional
creme fraiche or raw whipped cream, optional
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 9x13 glass baking dish with coconut oil.
In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients (first 6 ingredients.) set aside. In another bowl, mix wet ingredients (next 5 ingredients) until well blended. Pour into dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour batter into greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes.
If adding pecan halves, place them on top of cake after about 15 minutes cooking time, so they will not burn. Continue baking for remainder of time, until toothpick or knife comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Top with creme fraiche or whipped cream, if desired.

Spicy Grilled Cheese Avocado Recipe
I found this recipe on Facebook by Just Livin The Green.
1 avocado
1 avocado
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
¼ cup Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
¼ cup Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
Slice the avocado in half and remove the stone. Prick all over with a
fork, or cut criss-cross patterns with a knife. This allows the sauce
to penetrate the flesh.
Pour the sauce over each half, then top with lime juice and salt and pepper.
In the cavity where the stone has been, put a fourth of the cheese
on each avocado half. Place under the broiler for 2 minutes.
Top with remaining cheese and broil for
another 2 minutes until completely melted and avocado warmed through.
(The only thing I would change is they type of cheese. The Parmesan does not melt well enough. I would sub with Cheddar or Mozzarella next time.)

1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 Tablespoons organic butter
2 organic pastured eggs
2 Tablespoons local organic raw honey
1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
Preheat oven at 350°F.
Mix flour, baking soda and butter by hand until you have a crumbly consistency. Add eggs, honey and vanilla and mix thoroughly.
Spoon batter onto parchment-covered baking sheet. (You can also pat them into biscuit shapes or roll out the dough and use cookie cutters.)
Bake for 7 minutes or until golden. Eat them plain or top with favorite nut butter or butter!
